On January 12-15, 2023, the city of Dakar, Senegal played host for the 8th Edition of the Afrima Awards; one experience that brings all African Music celebrities under one roof. Amongst the league of African stars who graced the event were Nigerian global music superstars, P-Square, Tiwa Savage, Mc Charlene, Eltee Skhillz, Pheelz, Magixx, Fave, Asake and so many others.
AFRIMA’s Executive Producer/President, Mike Dada previously noted that the AFRIMA festival was carefully curated to reflect Africa’s rich cultural diversity, heritage as well as expose the musicians to different music markets, in line with the organisation’s objectives. And this was the case as a lot of diverse act were given the chance to showcase their talent.
Mc Charlene also know as the Energy Goddess seem to be a true reflection of AFRIMA'S intention to show the world Africa's diverse talent. She, being a hype lady, took the crowd by surprise with her dazzling look, confidence on the mic and how well she carried the crowd along with everything she did on the Afrima village stage.She stood out because normally many will not imagine a lady so beautiful can get into a line of profession that demands a lot of energy, talkless do it so effortlessly. P-Square and Tiwa Savage delivered an outstanding performance.
It was a breathtaking experience on Sunday night, at the 15-000 capacity Dakar Arena, as superstars across the continent clinched their deserved trophies while the event was broadcasts live to over 84 countries around the world. Nigerian maverick Davido, clinch 3 awards as he emerged winner of the “Best African Collaboration”, “Best Duo or Group in African Electro”, and “Best Male Artiste in African Inspirational Music” categories, respectively.It was a beautiful experience, one the city of Dakar will not get over quickly.

The Norwegian based Mc was announced the winner of the Best MC / Host in a tightly contested category which had the like of Vicky Fokala in it.

MC Charlene Bags Her First Award As Female MC/Host!
It's no surprise that the Energy Goddess MC Charlene emerged winner at the 2019 Scandinavia Afrobeats Music Awards (SAMA Awards) under the category for MC Of The Year! The SAMA Awards which took place in Subtopia, Sweden on the 4th of May 2019 is one which is aimed at appreciating everyones afforts in the industry and it couldn't skip the efforts of MC Charlene given the amount of work she has been able to deliver in 2018 alone and counting.
The Cameroon born international MC is one who is very competent and deserves the award, she has been able to host a great number of shows and was even called up to host the same award she was nominated in which she emerged victorious. This already gives you a clue of how competent and talented the Energy Goddess can be! It is worthy to note that the SAMA Awards is just one of the three awards MC Charlene has been nominated on in 2019 so far, with one award already secured in the bag, Charlene keeps her hopes high in sweeping the other two trophies at the Afro Diaspora Influential Awards and the African Pride Awards.

MC Charlene (Energy goddess) was in Lagos Nigeria to kick start her activities for the year 2019 after a wonderful and busy 2018 which saw her tour a number of countries in Africa and Europe. She wrapped off with a media tour of her home country Cameroon.
Mc Charlene also known as energy goddess is a Cameroonian born and Norway based MC and entrepreneur, have taken the entertainment world by storm. On her recent visit to Nigeria where she was hosted by the luxurious club Quilox in Victoria Island Lagos, she immediately turn fans and club enthusiast favorite when she hosted the FABULOS event at the same club.
Just a day after her arrival into the country, media houses (Bloggers, Prints, Radio and TV) where already trolling her to book interviews and appearance on their various programs. Due to her busy and tight schedule she was just able to grant audience to a very few. Her first stop was Eko FM Lagos on the Shining stars show hosted by Victor Eriabie and co-hosted by Funmi fly. Charlene talked about her love for her art and how she fell in love with being an MC. She also spoke about her challenges as a female MC and how the acceptance of female MC's is still very low in the male dominated industry and not forgetting how she challenged Nigeria DJs to always play Cameroonian artiste songs on their events and radio stations. .
Charlene who's also a certified chef talked about how she enjoy cooking the almighty Nigerian jollof and also her challenge of combining schooling and her work. She also talked about the challenges she face in class as the only black student in her class. However, this did not deter her as she continue to educate her fellow classmate about Africa. She was also invited as a guest on the Bigtunez show on Woman FM Lagos and she share a wonderful radio time with the host Powertouch. MC Charlene also took out time to attend the Lagos Mainland Party organized by MTVBASE Africa where she hangout with Praize and other celebrity friends. She also used the opportunity to grant interview to some media houses and felicitated with fans.
Before her departure from Nigeria she visited TVC Nigeria where she was a guest of TV host Titi The Dynamite and Yomi Owope on the WakeupNigeria show. Clubquilox new Date
It’s with deep regrets that we announce the cancellation of the Runtown show in Finland scheduled for the 2nd of March, and postponement of the clubquilox show in Lagos. As we all know Nigeria is in a political state of affairs these past month as their Presidential elections has been all over social media and the internet as a whole.
Recently, INEC, the national electoral council in Nigeria sent out a press release informing the general public of Nigeria of the postponement of the elections. The presidential and parliamentary votes have been rescheduled for Saturday 23 February which falls on the date we set out for the show in Lagos, hence we deeply apologize for the inconvenience as we have to reschedule the date to the 2nd of March, which is the date of the show in Finland featuring Runtown, hence Mc Charlene won’t be in Finland for the show.
